Down the Altamaha(-ha)

Based on the river monster Altamaha-ha aka Altie, said to inhibit the Altamaha river in Georgia (https://cryptidlab.com/altamaha-ha-guide/).
Also influenced by - but certainly not based on -  my own misadventures on the Altamaha.

The relic known as The Black Horn is said to give its wielder great power, although no one knows exactly how. This has caught the interest of the Shadow King, who has a promising but encrypted clue to its location. At long last, the king’s cartographer has deciphered the horn’s coordinates – but of all places, it had to be in the Altamaha. Who would be foolish enough to go there? This body of water is rumored to be the hideout of cutthroat smugglers and nasty sea creatures, a graveyard for both men and ships.

Perhaps the PCs failed to find Aldon, or that simply was not enough. Maybe there is a reward too great to pass up…
